In the summer of 2002, a small swarm of honeybees chose our backyard as their new home. Despite growing up as the son of a commercial beekeeper, I had no equipment, 2 small children and a pet. I decided to kill the swarm with a can of Raid. With remorse from killing the colony, I purchased the basic-necessities to manage a hive of bees then contacted the local Fire & Police Departments. Two days later we started receiving frantic phone calls and "Wessels Family Honey" was born! President, Josef Wessels We started this business with the greatest hope of giving everyone in our family LOCAL Wessels Honey. Well, that dream changed somewhat expanded and grew into something we never ever imagined! Wessels Family Honey, LLC is family Owned, Family Managed, we are beekeepers, we are Extractors, we are Bottling Experts of what must be kept pure and raw! We Label (if its crooked then the kids where having fun), we box, we deliver & most of all we strive to provide you with all the Local honey you can keep on your shelf & in your tummy's. Thank you for all the Sticky Fingers!!' |

He still loves the weather and playing around with all his weather stations as well as fogging up all the windows looking outside, but he has also turned into quite the little business man!! The chicken coop is great and it was already here! In 2009 & 2010 we have learned that what is desired is worth waiting for, that God's timing is not always ours! We have had so many ups and downs & thru every one of them God, Wonderful Friends & Family where there helping, holding & guiding us!
